Kira Boyd

Clinic Director/Physical Therapist/Certified Athletic Trainer

Kira Boyd, is the CEO and Clinic Director of Synergy Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine. She has over 19 years of clinical experience as a PT and specializes in Women’s and Men’s Health, Pelvic Floor/Abdominal Rehab, Sports Medicine and Orthopedic PT. Additionally she has over a decade of PT private practice management experience and has started and grown 2 successful outpatient private practices in Jacksonville, NC.  

Kira has worked with patients of all ages, as well as competitive athletes at the middle school, high school, collegiate and professional levels. She served as a student athletic trainer at both the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and The University of Miami. She began her professional PT career in 2000 in New York City and relocated back to eastern NC in 2002.  

Kira has a passion for treating all musculoskeletal conditions and focuses on utilizing skilled hands on manual therapy techniques, prescriptive exercises and patient education strategies. She has a special interest and advanced expertise in providing holistic treatment for complex pelvic and abdominal pain conditions, bowel and bladder dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, diastasis recti and breast cancer treatment related scar tissue and shoulder mobility concerns.  

She has completed extensive post graduate training including multiple courses through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute such as Pelvic Floor Level 1, 2A/2B & Capstone, and Male Pelvic Floor Function, Dysfunction and Treatment. She has also completed training in Visceral Mobilization, Strain/Counterstrain, Maitland Spinal and Extremity mobilization, the Mulligan technique, the McKenzie Method, the Selective Functional Movement Assessment, Myofascial Release, Muscle Energy Techniques, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, and Kinesiology taping.  

Kira and her husband, John Boyd, Jr, Synergy’s Business Manger are the founding partners and co-owners of Synergy. They are proud parents to 2 children, Beau and Caroline. Outside of her professional roles Kira enjoys travel, fishing, boating, weight lifting, tennis, golf, attending sporting events, and being active with her family.  

Kira graduated from Jacksonville High School and spent many years of her childhood in Jacksonville, NC due to her father’s 28 year career in the USMC. She is proud of her family’s military history which includes 3 generations of Marines (grandfather, father, brother), an uncle who graduated from the USNA and was a submariner, a grandfather who was active duty USN and a cousin on her husband’s side who is a USN Seal.  She feels privileged to treat and serve the military community in eastern NC and strongly believes in giving back to the Onslow County community.

Elizabeth Windsor

Physical Therapist Supervisor

Elizabeth “Liz” Windsor is a North Carolina Licensed Physical Therapist with clinical experience in the outpatient orthopedics setting. She works with patients across the lifespan with musculoskeletal dysfunction with special clinical interests in neck and back pain, work related injury and recovery, and chronic pain. She often utilizes a variety of manual therapy techniques including instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation and myofascial release for the treatment of musculoskeletal pain. She has strong clinical interest for and plans to achieve further training in Maitland therapy, kinesiotaping, dry needling, and SFMA for the treatment of orthopedic conditions.

Liz is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the North Carolina Chapter. She has a passion for the use of physical therapy as a form of service to communities around Eastern North Carolina through volunteer work, and outside the U.S. with experience in medical outreach in the Dominican Republic.

Her most recent certification is a treatment option available to patients called Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN) which is the utilization of a monofilament needle into a trigger point (knot in a muscle) to relieve pain and tension, promote blood flow, and improve flexibility.

Amy Klim

Amy Klim

Physical Therapist

Amy Klim is a North Carolina Licensed Physical Therapist with clinical experience in the outpatient orthopedics setting. She enjoys working with a variety of musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions including athletic/sports injuries, pre and post surgery, and chronic neck and back pain. She utilizes various manual techniques for treatment including instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization and trigger point release as well as McKenzie techniques for treatment of spinal disorders.

Amy's professional focus is on collaborating with patients on how to best achieve their functional and recreational goals with evidence based practices that are proven successful, as well as seeking out new techniques with potential effectiveness for specific patients. She is certified in Kinesiology Taping through Functional Movment Techniques and has many clinical interests including advanced sports and spinal rehabilitation, and plans to pursue further training in various manual techniques including IASTM, among others.

 She has always been active in various sports and activities including weight lifting, CrossFit, volleyball and AcroYoga and wants to encourage her patients to live a healthy, active, and pain free lifestyle through appropriate strengthening and flexibility techniques combined with appropriate lifestyle modifications.

Cameron Kapec

Cameron Kapec

Physical Therapist

Cameron Kapec is a North Carolina Licensed Physical Therapist with clinical experience in the outpatient orthopedics setting. He is interested in a wide variety of musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions including sports injuries, pre/post- rehabilitation, and chronic pain. He always had a strong interest in a variety of sports, but focused mainly on soccer. Cameron attended Guilford College in Greensboro where he played Varsity Soccer before transferring to Appalachian State University to receive his Bachelor of Exercise Science.  He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy at University of South Carolina.  Cameron completed over 1000 hours as an intern at Crossfit Kernersville, NC.  He specializes in the treatment of orthopedic conditions through the use of advanced manual therapy techniques, movement assessment, and skilled exercise intervention.  Cameron is certified in Kinesiology Taping through Functional Movement Techniques.  In the future, he hopes to complete CSCS (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), and dry needling certifications to integrate into his clinical practice.

Cameron is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and North Carolina Physical Therapy Association. He also continues to be proponent of living an active lifestyle with interest in soccer, weight lifting, and hiking. He aims to provide the necessary tools for patients to live an active lifestyle via specific strength and mobility interventions.

Kelly Cabanne

Physical Therapist

Kelly Cabanne was born and raised in Hobe Sound, Florida. She is a North Carolina Licensed Physical Therapist with clinical experience in the outpatient orthopedic setting. She has practiced primarily in the field of orthopedics and sports medicine, working with patients across the lifespan. She enjoys working with all patient populations, with a special interest in sports- related conditions, active duty military orthopedic injuries, balance/ gait disturbance, and lower extremity musculoskeletal disorders. Kelly has always had a strong interest in sports largely due to her participation in competitive soccer from a young age and rowing at the collegiate level. Kelly was a member of the Varsity Team that took home the National Championship Title in 2013. 

She specializes in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions through the use of skilled exercise intervention, movement assessment, and manual therapy techniques to include instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization. Kelly’s professional focus is to create a trusting, respectful relationship with her patients so that together they can achieve the patient’s goals and become more knowledgeable about their condition. 

Kelly is certified in the McKenzie Institute Treatment of the Lumbar Spine.  In the future, she hopes to complete Selective Functional Movement Assessment, Athletic Training Certification and plans to further her manual therapy training. She enjoys playing with her dog Bear, going to the beach, gardening, playing kickball, spending time with her husband, and living an active lifestyle.

Breanne Nelson

Breanne is originally from western New York where she attained her undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sports Studies from D’Youville College in Buffalo New York while also playing collegiate soccer. After graduating from D’Youville College in 2017, Breanne attended Genesee Community College the following fall and began the Physical Therapist Assistant program, and completed it in 2019. Breanne moved to Jacksonville to follow her military husband soon after graduating from Genesee Community College. She enjoys going to the gym, walking her dog, petting other people’s dogs, and watching movies.

Gabi Murdo

Gabrielle, aka Gabi, was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated from Lakota East High School in 2013. Gabi went to The University of Akron to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, and graduated in 2017. She enjoys spending time outside being active, especially with her dog, Atlas. She played soccer for the majority of her time growing up. Gabi recently got married and moved to Jacksonville because her husband is stationed here at Camp Lejeune. She hopes to one day obtain her masters degree and work full time with a women’s professional soccer team!

Gabi has recently been promoted to the management postition of Rehab Technician Supervisor to assist with managing our clinical support staff on a daily basis.

Danielle Czigler

Danielle Czigler
Rehabilitation Technician

Danielle is a graduate from the University of North Carolina Wilmington where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science. While there she was a part of the UNCW running club, which participated in races around the Wilmington area. She has lived in Jacksonville for the past 10 years. She graduated White Oak High School in 2014. She plans to obtain her CSCS certification to help her in her goal of becoming a physical therapist. Danielle’s interests outside of work are running and playing with her two Boston Terriers.

Kathia relocated from Oceanside, CA where she used to work at an Outpatient surgery center in Administration. She also worked as the Lead Therapy Tech in Phoenix, AZ. Kathia loves healthcare; thus, she's pursuing a career as a Registered Nurse. Kathia loves spending time with her husband and son. She also enjoys the outdoors and playing Kickball and Softball.

Peyton, born and raised in Memphis, TN, relocated to Jacksonville in 2017. She attended Lewisburg High School then studied music education at Northwest MS Community College. Peyton is now a Personal Trainer certified through the American Council on Exercise and spends the majority of her free time in the gym or playing music. She is eager to further her education in the field of physical therapy and medical exercise.

Jordan Williams

Jordan Williams
Rehabiliation Technician

Jordan is originally from Camden, North Carolina. She graduated from Camden County High School in 2015 and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from UNCW in 2019. Jordan hopes to return to graduate school in the future to further her education.

Jordan enjoys spending time with her son, walking her dogs, and staying active. She particularly enjoys participating in basketball and volleyball as well as weight training.

Jaclynn is a Jacksonville native, born and raised. She attended Richlands High School and has a long background in dance. Jaclynn attended Coastal Carolina Community College where she obtained her Associates in Health & Fitness. While there she also studied Medical Administration and received her Medical Administration Assistant Certificate.

Jaclynn enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband. During her free time you can find her at the beach.

John is a founding partner and Business Manager of Synergy Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine.  John has over 20 years of Sales and Marketing experience spanning several industries including banking, finance, fertilizer, contract packaging, medical, insurance and consulting.  In the 8 years prior to starting Synergy John was active in the insurance industry dealing with individual and group health benefits including Medicare and private insurance carriers.

Megan relocated from Maryland in August of 2018 to be closer to her family here in North Carolina. She studied Business Administration at Harford Community College in Bel Air, Maryland. Later beginning her work in the Physical Therapy industry in 2015.

In her free time she enjoys being outside with her dog, Dogzilla. Megan also looks forward to continuing her education here in Jacksonville.
