Group Fitness Class

  • Classes are held in the clinic Wednesdays 12:30pm-1:15pm
  • Classes led by Samantha Morris, MS, CIFT who has her Masters in Kinesiology and received her Certified Inclusive Fitness Trainer designation from American Council of Sports Medicine.

  • Participants are required to be able to stand independently and walk 20 ft without assistance.  Any participant who requires one-on-one attention due to fall risks or medical concerns are encouraged to first have physical therapy treatment prior to progressing to a group fitness class.

 

Health Benefits of Tai Chi

Tai Chi is often described “meditation in motion.”  It is a low-impact, slow-moving exercise routine gently flowing from and into each movement. With each exercise form, focus is given to breathing, alignment, self-awareness and control of each movement. Movements are never forced and are easily adaptable by each participant to meet his or her physical capacity and limitations. In large comprehensive reviews of the effectiveness of Tai Chi, many health benefits are cited and no adverse reactions were reported. Tai Chi is a great exercise choice for anyone, especially those who do not tolerate more vigorous routines due to fitness level, pain, or imbalance.

**Note** Our Tai Chi classes are considered “Small Group Fitness” and we are limited to the number of individuals in each class.
