Medically-Based Therapeutic Pain Relief

What is Massage Therapy?

Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of soft tissues of the body (ie muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments).  Massage therapy is performed to enhance a person’s health and well-being.  There are many types of massage therapy methods that are performed to reduce stress, anxiety, relax muscles, rehabilitate injuries, reduce pain and promote overall wellness.

Contraindications are as follows: Burns, rashes, or healing wounds, fractures, severe osteoporosis, and severe thrombocytopenia.  Contraindications will be discussed in your initial consultation.  Each massage is customized to fit your needs.  Your therapist will help determine if treatment is an option.

What are the different types of Massage Therapy?

  • Swedish Massage- Gentle form of massage that provides muscle relaxation using vibration and tapping to help relax and energize you.
